South Downs Way bridge over the Adur in morning mist
South Downs Way bridge over the Adur in morning mist

This footbridge carries the South Downs Way across the river Adur. Whilst a functional steel and concrete construction it means much to the many walkers and cyclists who use it throughout the year. This image aims to connect the modern largely leisure use of this recent construction to the industrial history of the valley and modern infrastructure referenced by the tall chimney of the old cement works and more recent pylons. The sun and mist help to create a representation of that history.
